Employer cohorts

Employer cohorts as the wedge for workplace wellbeing measured at the room, not the survey.

Also touches: Performance
Biomarkers
  • Specific gravity

    Urine concentration. Direct hydration signal.

  • Heart-rate variability

Beat-to-beat variation. Autonomic balance, recovery, stress, and overtraining signal.

  • Urinary cortisol

    Stress and HPA-axis signal.

Sensors
  • Urinalysis test strip

10-parameter reagent strip read at the seat. Captures pH, nitrites, leukocytes, glucose, blood, protein, ketones, urobilinogen, bilirubin, and specific gravity from each void.

  • Urine spectroscopy (optical / SERS)

Non-contact optical analysis of urine in the bowl or stream. Uses vis-NIR absorbance, fluorescence, and surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) to fingerprint analytes without consumables. Calibrates against the same biochemistry strips read by urinalysis.

  • ECG electrodes

Contact electrodes integrated into the seat for short-arm and short-leg ECG. Captures rhythm, conduction, and waveform morphology each sit.

  • PPG / optical sensor

Photoplethysmography optical sensors at the seat and handrail contact points. Captures heart rate, HRV, and SpO₂ from blood-volume pulse.

  • Mirror camera

Low-resolution facial and torso imaging behind the mirror with on-device inference. Reads heart rate, respiration, and SpO₂ via remote photoplethysmography (rPPG); also captures skin tone, posture, and gesture. Raw frames never leave the room; only features.

  • Urine immunoassay

Lateral-flow and microfluidic assays measuring hormones, drug metabolites, and infection-specific biomarkers from urine.

Open questions
  1. 01

How might we measure employee wellbeing from the room, not the survey?

  2. 02

How might we keep employer access cohort-level and time-bounded?

  3. 03

How might we connect wellbeing investment to outcomes the room records?
